10 sample poems to be considered for book publication. This call is open to ALL Canadian poets, published or unpublished. Previously published poets may submit the full manuscript (see next paragraph) if desired.

To qualify for publication poets must, once accepted, be able to provide a final manuscript of approximately 80 pages minimum and must sign an attestation form that all poems are works of their own creation. Previously unpublished poems are preferred although minor exceptions may be considered at the publisher’s discretion. Simultaneously submitted or previously published poems MUST be marked as such with relevant details included.

ALL SkyWing Press books are printed with a black/white glossy card stock cover and are perfect-bound. The cover has a pre-designed, unique format that identifies it from other publications and will be offered to the public as a Canadian poets’ series. Accepted poets will be requested to confer on a cover image that fits their chapbook theme from a selection of high school student artwork designed to the book’s title. This will encourage Canada’s rising artists!

Poets will be required to participate in readings and launches at various venues in Ontario for the purpose of public exposure, recognition and the sustained promotion of their published material.

SkyWing pays in copies: 35 books for a press run of 350 OR the value of 35 books minus the cost of publication.

Each book will be will be numbered inside (001/350, 002/350 etc) to suit the collector of literary art! Each poet must be willing to apply their handwritten autograph to 350 registration certificates prior to the press run date for inclusion when the books are ready for sale and distribution.

SkyWing is currently NOT carrying a deadline for submissions and considers submissions in the order they are received. We publish quarterly and are now booking our fine poets into 2011!
